EngenderHealth Announces Two New Board Members

December 19, 2022 (WASHINGTON) — EngenderHealth is pleased to announce that two exceptional leaders have joined the organization’s Board of Directors. New members Elizabeth (Liz) Maguire and Melinda O’Leary bring decades of leadership and experience in fields including finance, consulting, global health, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

EngenderHealth Board Chair Dr. Linda Rosenstock said, “We are thrilled by the addition of these new board members. Liz Maguire is an internationally recognized leader in the women’s reproductive health field, with myriad accomplishments as an admired executive and thought leader. Melinda O’Leary couples her passion for EngenderHealth’s mission with her deep background and experience in finance, accounting, and consulting to drive organizations to optimally perform.”

Liz Maguire brings five decades of leadership in the international family planning and reproductive health and rights field and is the recipient of numerous awards. Her distinguished career includes more than 20 years at USAID where she served as the first woman director of the Office of Population and Reproductive Health. She also served as president and CEO of Ipas for more than 15 years. In her retirement, she continues to serve as a passionate advocate, guest lecturer, mentor, and writer.

Melinda O’Leary is a director at O’Connor Consulting Services, a women-owned firm specializing in providing finance and accounting consulting services to the nonprofit and higher education community. Prior to joining O’Connor Consulting Services, she spent more than 20 years in senior finance and accounting roles with both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. O’Leary has expertise in modernizing policy and procedures, conducting financial analyses, leveraging technology to drive efficiencies, building high-performing teams, and ensuring financial sustainability.
